INKED by Drew Elyse
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m always down for a romance set around a tattoo parlour and this was a particularly good one. Jess and Jackson had such a slow burn and a ton of UST when they met; you could almost feel Jess’s frustration coming off the page at Jackson’s unwillingness to take the flirting any further. From here on out, one of the most outstanding things about this story is how kick-ass Jess was. She never hung around and waited for things to happen, she just got the hell on with it, if it needed saying; she said it and if it needed doing; she did it; on her own terms, and I loved her for it. Jackson’s patience and care with Jess and how much he was just hooked on her from the get-go was a joy to read, I think we all want a guy like this this.
Further in, and things aren’t quite what they seem, and we find there’s a reason for Jackson’s behaviour. When neither of them can finally withstand the scorching heat and chemistry between them, they give in. This isn’t an easy ride off into the sunset though and it’s just the start of the journey these two have to go through. Secrets were kept (for good reason), and there’s plenty of danger and suspense along the way…
This was a really enjoyable read and my first from Drew Elyse. I’m now looking to read the Savage Disciples series and then we’ve got Parker’s story coming in this series which I’m excited for.
