Romance, hatred, sexiness, and laughs. Dangerous Exes has it all from start to finish and I love Isla and Jessie (and Goo-Poh!). The fantastic writing we've come to expect from Rachel Van Dyken and believable characters, fun dialogue, and chickens all combine together to make this a must-read book.
The dynamics in this book between Jessie and Ilsa are explosive. I loved every word of this book, the banter and the all around I'm going to get you attitudes of both were hilarious. Also the emotions coming from both were heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. I enjoyed this book so much, I didn't want it to end.
Isla, the owner of Dirty Exes an Investigation Agency is the target of Jessie, the accused ex-husband whose reputation was ruined (not by the agency but by his ex-wife. He is determined to ruin Isla and her agency. The situation is made worse by the fact that their best friends found love during the investigation.
The solution to their problem is to pretend to be engaged. But these two are opposites. He is a buttoned up control freak whose idea of colors is white, black and grey. She loves colors but is addicted to lists, notes and highlighters. The clash of personalities is heightened by the sexual attraction they try to resist.
As always, Rachel left me laughing until I cried, eager to turn the next page and ready for more when I get to the last page. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book and hope that the wait is short!
